Hypothesis

Gatorade and Biosteel will have similar electrolyte levels and Water will have the least amount of electrolytes.

Research

What are electrolytes?

Electrolytes are minerals that your body uses to help make sure your major organs and muscles function properly.

 What do electrolytes do?

After you sweat they help your body not cramp as much and they also help replenish the minerals you lose in your sweat.

Why are electrolytes so important?

Variables

The sporting drinks will be the only variables. Gatorade, Prime, Biosteel, Coke, Orange Juice, Chocolate Milk, and Water will be measured.

Procedure

1) Gather 6 samples

2) Measure 250 mL. of each sample

3) Insert the end of the multimeter probe into the samples (one at a time)

4) Record the reading on the multimeter

5) Remove the probe from the sample then clean off the probe

6) Repeat steps 3,4,and 5 two more times on the first sample

7) Repeat steps 3,4,5,and 6 for all of the samples

8)  Avrage the three readings for each samples and compare the results
