Problem
Problem: Every day we loose more and more EMS and first responders due to them getting stabbed while on the job. The problem with this isn't just that they are dying but that they are dying while protecting or trying to save us (citizens). So everyday we lose people who are trying to help us, since they don't do these type of jobs for themselves, they do it for us. It is estimated that 12.7 EMS per 100,000 EMS die annually while on the job, it may not seem like a lot but trust me it is that means as a EMS you have a 0.0127 percent chance of dying while on the job, that is crazy and this project is here to fix that.
Method
Method: A flexible, descrit, durable, and cheap stab proof vest, this vest will be thin enough to not spark concern from people around EMS, first repsonders, and possibly homeless workers (musterd seed, care centre) but still be strong enough to slow down or lessen the harm done to the person from a stabbing. This will most likely not stop a knife but the goal of this project is to lessen the amount of deaths that happens to these types of workers while on the job.
Analysis
In this project I analysed that it is quite hard to make a stab proof vest that is cheap but protective, I used fabric that felt strong, corrugated cardboard, possibly some steel, so this project was very cheap but at the same time it was very difficult to make it cheap.
Conclusion
In conclusion this was a great project to do it was fun and crazy so I am excited to share this amazing adventure with you all :).
