Math Time

I gave four people math questions at different times of the day to see which time is best for math
Grade 6

Hypothesis

I think that the best time for all ages would be around 10:00 am because everyone would not be that sleepy and would be well fed.  So they will be energized and their minds will be working and refreshed so that's why I think they will solve the questions fast and get them correct.

Research

I researched what time of day is best for math questions. The sites I checked said that the morning was the best time for mathematics.

Variables

Controlled variables I have to make sure that I keep the time the same so I know what time is best for each person to learn mathematics. Manipulated variables I changed the time so I know what time is best for mathematics.Responding variables In the morning most people got the majority wrong and throughout the day their answers got better and when we reached the night they also got many questions wrong.

Procedure

First I picked 10 questions and made the tests and my family did the tests and I would    mark them. I did this 6 times a day for three days. Lastly I would look and record all the answers to get my results.

Analysis

I realized that 12:00 had one thing   different from the other times of the day. It was that after the test they had time to take a nap. They used this as a motivation  to finish the test fast and get all the answers correIct.

Conclusion

I conclude that the best time for mathematics is at 12:00 because they just finished lunch then are ready to take a nap after the test. This motivated them to go faster and get them correct. My hypothesis was not correct because I thought that 10:00 was the best time for mathematics because they were well fed and had a full sleep but I was not accurate.

Application

My project could be very helpful to teachers because they can use the results and find out what time their students are really focused and ready to learn mathematics at a time that they will understand the questions.

Sources Of Error

My sources of error that occurred were  the tests I gave my subjects the same questions in different orders at the same time so the subjects might have a hard start and an easy end or vice versa  this might have affected the answers. So if I do something like this again I will try better not to make this mistake again.
