Hypothesis
The hypothesis (or prediction)
I think most people gain weight and become unhealthy because of their sugar intake.
Research
Sugar is a form of carbohydrates. The body breaks down all carbohydrates into sugar. There are different types of sugars, which vary in the structure of their molecules. They include:
- glucose
- galactose, which milk contains
- fructose, a sugar common in fruits Disaccharides or polysaccharides are sugars with two or more molecules. These include:
- sucrose, which is a common form of table sugar
- lactose, another sugar in milk and dairy products
Variables
In my experiment, my mom stopped eating sugar for two weeks
Independent variable - the amount of sugar not eaten
Dependent Vairable - the weight loss
Procedure
Purpose of the experiment: To see if sugar is the main cause of weight gain, I am testing this on my mom. My mom has stopped eating sugar from last two weeks and here are the results…
Materials Needed - Weighing Scale, My mom, Pen and Paper to record
Procedure: 1. Day 1 - Stop eating sugar and record mom's weight
2. Continue to not eat sugar and weigh mom every 2nd or 3rd day in pounds.
3. Keep doing step 2 until Day 14.
4. Compile the results in a table
Observations
i observed that all these sugary oroducts carbs and heathly drinks and food have alot of sugar in it like an example like a friut juice had 50 grams of sugar
Analysis

- One can lose weight if they control their sugar intake
-
Conclusion
WHAT I WANT OTHERS TO LEARN FROM MY PROJECT
- IS TO LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE
- AND TO BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT AND HOW MUCH SUGAR IS IN THAT THING YOU ARE EATING
Application
Too much sugar can cause serious health problems.
It can raise blood glucose levels, causing diabetes ,heart disease, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, kidney disease, liver disease, damage to the retina, muscle, tooth decay and nerve damage.
People are not aware of how much sugar they end up eating each day. People need to read the nutrition facts before making a purchase as even drinks that we think are healthy can contains close to 40 grams of sugar.
Sources Of Error
in this project i observed no errror
