Hypothesis
I think 4 hours is going to survive because its half the time and if it's 2 hours it will not be able to to provide the food which is made by sunlight, is going to starve. And if it’s 6 hours it's going to dry.
Research
Bean, Peas, Cucumber, Pumpkins, Radish, Arugula, Orka and Lettuce are one of the easiest fast growing plants says Melanie Griffiths.Sunlight is a important part to planting.SKV, Amy Grant,Julie and Natalie and Tamu Edu explains what could happen without sunlight. The plants won’t be able to make its own food and if it can’t make its own food then it will die.If the plant has sunlight then it will be able to make its own food but if there's too much sunlight then it will dry out. I am testing how much exactly does a plant need to grow.
Variables
Dependant variable: hours of sunlight
Responding variable:
Plants growth(seeing which one is taller or more healthier)
will see which one has germinated and started growing
controlled variables:
Amount of water, Location
Procedure
1.Put the seeds into the ziplock (separate by plant type)
2. Put each plant into the sun based on the hour of the plant (ex. Beans are 2hrs)
3. Then take it into a dark room when the time of the plant is done
4.see the growth of the plant is grown
5.repeat for rest of January
6.write down conclusion
Observations
tthe 2 hr seeds didn't grow but the the 4 hr and the 6 hr grew.
Analysis
I found out that it's better to have basil and radishes as indoor plants because they grow really quickly and they don't dry up.if you have beans it will turn to mush. The plants grow better in 6 hrs.
Conclusion
My question was: How will the hours of sunlight affect my plants growth?
The answer to my question is: 6 hrs is the time basil and radishes need to live
My hypothesis was incorrect because: i guessed that it would take 4hr but the 6 hr plants grew more.
Application
Gardeners can know that radishes and basil can grow fast in 6 hours.
Sources Of Error
I think these results were reliable because if a gardener needed to know this information then they would have it. I think the coldness of my window affected the experiment.if i was to repeat this experiment then i would do it in the summer.
