The Vertebrae
Grade 6
Presentation
Problem
What Would Happen If Your Intervertebral Disc Were To Be Crushed To Its Max?
Method
In order to find out what would happen to our intervertebral disc when it is crushed towards its maximum limit. We would need to know what happens to the outer layer of the intervertebral disc. The outer layer (which is called the anulus fibrosus) WIll start to get weaker and thinner causing the inner layer (Nucleus pulposis) to start to break out and rip the anulus fibrosus causing the intervertebral disc to start bubbiling on that part. This is called the Interverebral bulge. The intervertebral bulge can come in contact with your spinal cord and cause pain on contact.
( I will be using a modell, PIcture, And a Pyhsical object to demonstrate )
Research
In this research project. I will be further explaining all about the vertebrae and the spinal cord nerves. I will explain the catagories of the vertebrae and the symptoms of it getting injured and etc. The project will be explaining the 5 sections of the vertebrae and explaining the 2 catagories that the 5 sections go into. I will also be explaining things that help your vertebrae like your intervertebral disc.
Data
I have researched many videos that focus on the point of "What happens if your intervertabral disc is damaged" and have learned that this is why you randomly feel a sharp pain in your back after a traumatic accident. This is because of the intervertebral bulge touching and even pushing your spinal cord which flows through your vertebrae. I have even got information from people about what are the causes of your intervertebral disc being injured and how it feels.
Conclusion
In conclusion. We have covered up everything about how your intervertebral disc can get injured and what it feels like. This results in the ending of the question "What would happen if you compressed your intervertebral disc to its max?".

The vertebrae and spinal cord is a very heavy and complex system for a grade 6 student. So I tried my best to shorten it down in to much simpiler words and easy to explain while still keeping the information fresh. As a grade 6, I find it fine for me to make mistakes sometimes because some of those things are outside of my learning boundries. I hope you all understand.
