Problem

Will it be realistic for all cars to be electric by 2035? It would put a very big strain on society and car manufactorors if the government of Canada pulls through with their plan to make all new cars that are selling, to be electric, a plan put in place to help the prevention of the environmental crisis.

Method

We had made mostly only, the procedure of gradual research.

Research

“Electric  car  is  the  unconditional  and  inevitable  the  future  of  the  automotive industry.”1

“…generator is driven from the internal combustion but such a scheme,in fact, is no longer an electric vehicle and refers to one of the varieties of hybrid car.”1

“ Electric vehicles have always had higher upfront costs than gas automobiles.” 2

“New technologies are lowering costs to make them more competitive, but the purchase price remains an important factor to consider.” 2

“….most electric vehicles still have a limited range.” 2

“These vehicles are useful for commuting, but they are not suitable for extended drives or road excursions.” 2

“While the momentum around EVs is building, the stock of EVs remains at around 0.2–0.3%...” 3

“The main barriers for personal mobility based on electric cars and buses were found to be the high prices of EVs and the use of scarce metals in batteries.” 4

Batteries in teslas aren't good under certain conditions.

Data

Eletrcity needed to power eletric cars is not possible for canada.

The reason is, as CBC news states,"Reports from the International Energy Agency and the Canadian Climate Institute in 2022 found Canada would need to double or triple its electrical grid capacity by 2050..."

Conclusion

Electric cars being the main form of transport is a realistic possibility for 2035 but there are many barriers that we have yet to overcome.
