Hypothesis
If I shoot ten times from five spots(Top, Middle left, Left, Middle right and Right) then I think top will have the most amount of shots made because I shoot best from the top.
Research
The physics of basketball. The tehnical motions in basketballl are hops, shots, forces, etc. The forces that have a impact on a shot are gravity, force that is pushing the ball up and the drag force of the air crashing into a ball. We shot angles. from 5 different
Variables
My manipulated variable is the spot I shoot from.I think the amount of shots we make from the 5 different angles. I will mesure by taking 10 shots from 5 different spots.
My controled variables are my shot form, the place I shoot from for ten times and I shoot from the same court each time.
Procedure
- I will take 10 shots from the top
- I will take 10 shots from the middle left
- I will take 10 shots from the left
- I will take 10 shots from the middle right
- I will take 10 shots from the right
- Repeat the process 2 more times
Observations
We think that top was the worst in all trials. When I shot from middle left we made most of them. In every trial there would be at least 1 5/10 in the results so we think 5 is the shots an average person would make.
Analysis
For the experiment middle left was actually the best place i shot from. top was one of my worst spots. Middle left was the best.
Conclusion
To conclude, I shot the best from from the middle left. I know this becuase I compared all the spots I shot from in all 3 trials, middle left was either the best spot I shot from or was tied with the top. Now I know what spot I shoot from best, middle left.
Application
Lets say that someone I am coaching or helping comes up to me and says " What spot should I shot from". I would say "Shoot from this spot", because I know what spot works best for me so I can suggest them the spot and who knows maybe it will work for them.
Sources Of Error
I would do this at an actual court insted of my driveway becuase it's slanted. Also, for trial 2 and 3 a car was in the way so I had to shoot over it. Finally, I had to get the rebound sometimes and I couldn't go back to the exact same spot.
