I read various articles on Artificial Intelligence on the internet and watched videos.

My uncle who is in the field of computer science gave a detail presentation.

What is AI?

AI or also known as Artificial intelligence is a robot that can learn and adapt like a human. The meaning of Artificial Intelligence is;Artificial is a man made item, and intelligence is when we acquire and use the information. Intelligence is primarily another word for knowledge. It means that the person is smart or intelligent. 

 

Type 1 AI

Type 1 AI is basically just based on the capability.The capability of type 1 AI is a smaller range then type 2 AI.AI is a wide range this type 1 and type 2. Type 2 Artificial intelligence includes Limited memory,theory of mind, Reactive machine and last but not least self-Awareness.But in this case type 1 artificial intelligence includes General AI, Super AI and narrow AI. An example of type 1 AI is an artificial intelligence game. You know when you play checkers on the computer,you don't actually play a human. What you are playing  against is type 1 Artificial Intelligence. 


 

Different types of Artificial Intelligence 

 There are many different types of Artificial Intelligence. But in this case the three main types are narrow AI, General AI, Super AI. These three AI types are what is powering the world's population. 

 

Artificial Narrow Intelligence: AI designed to complete very specific actions; unable to independently learn. Examples: Netflix, Siri, and Face recognition      

Artificial General Intelligence: AI designed to learn, think and perform at similar levels to humans. Example:IBM Watson supercomputer, OpenAI GPT-3

Artificial Superintelligence: AI able to surpass the knowledge and capabilities of humans.


 

Narrow AI/AGI

Narrow AI or also known as weak AI, is a type of Artificial intelligence where you have to tell the robot  a specific thing. Because narrow AI is not trained to take on bigger questions. Narrow AI is very straightforward and some examples of narrow AI are, Siri, Alexa and last but not least chatbot. The abbreviation for narrow AI is ANI. This abbreviation stands for  Artificial Narrow Intelligence.

 

General AI/AGI

General AI is also known as strong AI. Is a computer system that can comprehend complex codes and questions. For instance, an example of General AI is voice assistance. They are assigned to do a task but It is assigned. On the other hand, the abbreviation for General AI is AGI. meaning  Artificial General Intelligence. 

Super AI/ASI 

Super AI is the strongest of all three main AIs. Its computer system can calculate extremely complex Algorithms. Self-driving cars are an excellent example of super AI. It can calculate when a stop sign,  traffic light or even other cars to the minute.Super AI is amazing in the way it can calculate moving things.ASI is the abbreviation, it stands for  Artificial Super Intelligence. 

The graph above is a prediction on how much money the US is going to put into artificial intelligence. It shows  how AI  usage is potentially going to grow to 2,575.16B in the year 2032.

 

On the flip side this graph shows how Artificial Intelligence grew throughout the past. The graph was made in the US and it goes through the range 2013-2021. 






 

Disadvantage 

  • Taking over jobs

Example: jobs like accountants are being taken over by artificial intelligence. 

  • Lack of creativity

Example: artificial intelligence does not have the same level of creativity  like humans.

  • Polluting the earth

 Example: AI takes a lot  more energy than humans.

  • Making human sluggish

 Example: now instead of going to the mall you can online shop.




 

Advantage

  • Reduce Human Error

Example: humans are using autocorrect and autocorrect is AI.

  • Effective 

Example:Artificial intelligence works fast and well. 

  • Efficiency

Example: AI is a lot quicker than humans

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability for a computer to think and learn like humans. AI technology can process large amounts of data in ways, unlike humans.

It is a field of study in computer science that focuses on creating machines and software capable of intelligent behavior.  

The goal for AI is to be able to do things such as recognize patterns, make decisions, and judge like humans.

 

Types of Artificial Intelligence?

There are many different types of Artificial Intelligence. The three main types are:

  1. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)
  • Performs specific tasks, unable to independently learn
  • Examples: Siri, Alexa, playing chess, translating languages
  1. Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
    • Can perform tasks much like humans 
    • Examples: Drone robots, Spam filters on email
  2. Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)
  • Can perform any task better than humans or AGI
  • Examples: Fully automated self-driving cars, Humanoid robots

Advantages of Artificial Intelligence?

  • Medical applications

Better diagnostics and treatment, Robotic surgery systems

 

  • Perform repetitive jobs /zero risk 

Carry out dangerous task in a hazardous environment

 

  • Reduces human error

Accuracy, less chance of error with AI

 

  • 24X7 availability

Online customer support

 

  • New inventions

Disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence?

  • No ethics

Ethics and morality difficult to incorporate into AI 

Artificial Intelligence may eventually wipe out humanity

 

  • Unemployment (job displacement)

Concern that low-skilled job would be taken over by AI

 

  • High cost

Hardware and software must be upgraded on a regular basis

 

  • Lack of creativity

AI does not have the same level of creativity as humans

 

  • Making human sluggish

AI increases human dependency on machines which can lead to laziness

PROCEDURE

 

  • AI works by combining large data sets with automatic processing algorithms

 

  • AI can manipulate these algorithms by learning behavior patterns within data set

  • Uses special algorithms (step-by-step instructions)                     
  • Understand and make sense of the input

  • Analyze the discovery and give feedback

  • Give response based on the input and what it learned
