Hypothesis

I Hypothesize that in the future, we will have a singularity. currently, we do not have the money or resources to create it. and the people who do have it, are scared that it will take over earth. even though it has nothing to gain from taking over Earth.

Research

After doing extensive research. I say that it has not become human, since humans are biological, and since cortical labs only have rat brain cells, if they started doing it with human brain cells, then sure. It probably could be human now. But since Chatgpt was trained on a couple (5 to 10) Nvidia A100 GPUs, (50k CAD for each card) I find it hard to believe that we are anywhere near that place yet. If I had the resources, I would have for sure made a model. But unfortunately, I did not.

Variables

My variablls are

#1 dependent: the program im making

#2 Independent: the chat logs

Procedure

The procedure for doing this is very simple, I open a text-code software like VS code, and I ask chatgpt to try and generate me an "AI chatbot that thinks and learns and is pretty much human" and if it works, then i modify the code by hand to change it to who/what I want, and for this bot, I named him Joey.

Observations

My observation of this expermient is one key issue. the chatbott itself did not think.it just spat out a random answer based on the training data. but i did get it to respond sometimes, but it was always random. and if any of the bots did work, it would take way too much time to actually train them at the rate of a human by the due date.

Analysis

The results of the experiment were inconclusive due to the lack of time. Despite having several months, programming is extremely complicated, it’s especially hard when attempting to program an AI chatbot without technical help...

So in theory, it could think it's human, if it's based on the right training data, and in the right language.

If I win, I will go to the next level with lots of time, and I will have prior knowledge, so I will have extra time, knowledge, and experience.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, AI has yet to reach my goalposts for being human, and if they have, they have not met all of them. But it did come close due to “wetware”, a technology that uses cells to learn. They currently have them playing pong. I have also learned that I hate Linux on a personal level due to its vast amounts of issues when installing libraries, script editors, and Python. But I have learned that AI has come close to being human, with Sophia and ChatGPT.

But nothing has been sadder, after spending a solid 3 weeks of my life working on this, and learning more than halfway into this project, that ChatGPT itself,

Was trained on a server worth $400000+. So in conclusion. This project was one of the most fun I have ever had on a school project. However, due to a lack of resources and time, I could not have completed it. Thank you.

Application

i can see this being helpful in the future, lets say we can make a AI that is pretty much human, biology and all. if we can build a brain, then whats stopping us from making a empty brain, and try putting someone elses consciousness inside of it.

Sources Of Error

I belive the one thing that could have thrown me off was thhe fact that the code itself was not strong/ long enough in order to have it think properly, if in theory it was long enough, another blockade i would run into is a technological barrier, due to the fact that i do not have a 50k graphics card

and then ChatGPT.

Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that I have had help during this project.

the only huge one was the trifold itself, my mom did help me make it, but I did everything else. and she only helped a bit.

the other one was ChatGPT to help generate a basic code guideline I could build off of. so I did modify all of the code myself to fit my needs.
